I need help with the new “Question #7” (“What reason(s) best describes how your unemployment, partial unemployment, or inability or unavailability to work was caused by the COVID-19 public health emergency?”) that is on the new Benefit Claim Form that is for the period ending 9/13.
I don’t fit any of the conditions in the available choices, and I can’t file without answering the question! My office closed down March 18th and the OFFICE has not reopened, but some employees are able to work from home — I don’t have that option because I had only worked there a short time, and was still lacking a lot of the training I need to work at home without someone in the next cube to help answer questions if I hit a snag. My boss said he can’t bring me back yet (totally understand), so I’m LOOKING for another job, but of course am filing for benefits during the time until I am hired.
How can I certify? The closest choice out of the answers is that “My office closed because of COVID-19,” but there is no option for “My-office-has-remotely/partially-reopened-but-it-didn’t-include-bringing-back-MY-job-yet”?
I don’t want to answer incorrectly and possibly delay my payments while I job hunt, and I sure don’t want to answer untruthfully on something this important; it’s easy to check that they are IN BUSINESS, just not fully opened the way they were before.
