LWA eligibility requirements?
Minimum of $100 or more weekly benefit award. If you're weekly benefit award on your main page is less than $100 - you do not qualify. Sorry :(
Received payment on claim during the week in question (see above for dates)
Must self-attest that you are unemployed/partially unemployed due to disruptions caused by COVID-19
If you made excessive earnings, were fully employed, or were disqualified -- YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE
All extensions are automatic. Here is a breakdown of all the programs you can qualify for
Regular UI (w2 worker):
- Regular UI: 26 weeks
- PEUC: 13 weeks (AUTOMATIC no application)
- FED-ED: 20 weeks (AUTOMATIC but has different eligibility requirements) -- if you are not eligible, you will be put on PUA
PUA (self-employed/1099 worker):
- PUA: 39 weeks
- FED-ED: 7 weeks
Important things to note about PEUC
If you are still within your benefit year (check your main page to see), EDD will automatically file your claim for you.
If your benefit year has EXPIRED (again, check main page), EDD will notify that you have to file for a new claim first. If you qualify for a new claim, you will be put on that, if not they will file a PEUC extension on the prior claim.
